The brand began as a final project in fashion school, where I spent months researching how to build a sustainable clothing company. From that point on, I knew this was the route I needed to go — and that the fashion industry itself needed to change. At Slate, we’re committed to supporting local suppliers and skilled artisans, using natural fabrics and non-toxic dyes to embed conscious practices into everything we do.
